New Year, New Gear: New Equipment for the 2024-25 Ski Season

We’re excited to be carrying some new gear this year, starting with a few new skis from Fischer. We were lucky enough to demo the Orbiter Crowns last winter and found them to be just a riot! They are a short cut ski with Fischer’s reliable “Vario-Crown” pattern for grip, which is cut to be less aggressive at the tips and tails (to increase glide), but more aggressive right under the foot (for kickin’ grip). They’re super light and speedy, while also incorporating Fischer’s ‘Efficient forward” technology, which means the ski has an extra flexibility pocket right under the ball of the foot which allows for easy grip. Come demo them and you’ll end up walking out with your new favorite pair of skis! The Fischer Outback 68’s are an exciting new addition as well, mostly because of thedetachable skin strip that clips on and off with
ease for long climbs. The ultimate BC Ski for northern Michigan terrain, the Outback 68 will take you anywhere you want to go.
In the racing world, the Olympic level Salomon boots have incorporated a BOA lacingsystem, a trend that will most likely be followed by a few other manufacturers as well. Both the S/Race and the S/Lab boots now havethe BOA lacing system. The main advantage is the ability to uniformly tighten the whole boot without over-tightening one section, all done with a simple dial. The S/Race is still carbon loaded like the previous year, and the S/Lab is still on a full carbon frame. All our gear is tested by our staff. Come demo a pair!
