The snow doctoring team was hard at work all night spreading snow out onto the trail system. Currently, this man-made snow covers the outbound trail to Trapper’s Cabin, and we hope to have the return leg completed tonight (this will make a ~2km loop). Out and back to Trapper’s Cabin on the outbound loop measures about 1.6km, and is in great condition for skating and classic skiing. This stretch was snowcombed this morning, as was the practice area. Also skiable (but not as nice) is the short-cut on the Manitou trail, which, if combined with the Trapper’s out-and-back, is 2.3km round trip. All the rest of the trails are open but have fair to poor conditions. THIS WEEKEND: Plan on the Trapper’s Cabin trail and the practice area being in good shape for skiing, with a strong base of man-made snow. LOTS of fun events planned for the weekend as well, be sure to check out live music, a NEW exciting food special, a free ski lesson, and a learn to skate ski clinic! *With rain in the forecast Thursday night, we will likely close the trails on Friday.
Today’s Forecast: Areas of patchy fog early. Cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. High 43F. Winds light and variable.
