We received a couple more inches of light, fluffy snow throughout the day yesterday, and it continues to snow lightly this morning. All trails are open and ungroomed. Our trail crew has been working nights to spread man-made snow onto the Trapper’s Cabin trail, so you may encounter some interesting conditions out there until it’s finished (likely by tomorrow morning). The rest of the trails have about 3-4 inches of snow on them, and while you’ll find some grass sticking up here and there, many skiers reported a great time out there yesterday! Classic rock skis are recommended.
The practice area has abundant man-made snow, and is PERFECT for demos, lessons, and for skiers of all ages to ski around and play. For folks interested in learning how to ski, or improving your technique, we still have room in the Ski Clinics with Jordyn Ross today, with options for Advanced/Expert skate and classic options. Join us for LIVE MUSIC from Tim & Dani today from 2:30-4:30pm in the Stone Turtle Cafe!

- Both Days: Bob’s Bean Bomb! Back in the early 2000’s, founder Bob Frye created a culinary concoction that eventually became a legend in the XC ski industry: Bob’s Bean Bomb. He went so far as to sell it to ski shops and specialty markets throughout the country. He has since retired the project, but on occasion, he makes a big batch of it for friends and family… and it never lasts longer than a few minutes. This cheesy, spicy, addictive bean dip is served hot, with sturdy chips. Cold drinks recommended. Available until it sells out!

Intended for both beginners and people who have not skied in many years, the Golden Years Ski School is an introduction (or reintroduction) to the sport of cross country skiing for people aged 55+. articipants will begin the workshop at 10:30 with indoor introductions and instruction, then head outside for an on-snow lesson. They will debrief inside afterwards, and break for lunch in the Stone Turtle Cafe and Day Lodge from 12pm to 1pm. After lunch, from approximately 1pm to 2pm, instructor Jim Bradley will take skiers on a guided ski tour on the XC Ski Headquarters trails.
