Cross Country Ski Report – Saturday, Feb 3rd

Trail Conditions XC Ski HQ

The Snow Doctoring team of Mike and Tony spent the night spreading snow onto the outbound trail to Trapper’s Cabin. This section has been groomed and, along with the Practice Area, has the best conditions. The rest of the trails have seen better days since the warm temps have taken their toll, but most of the trail network is still “skiable”. There are several bare spots and some wetter sections starting to form, but most of them can be skied around. Skating is not recommended, and classic skiing should be done in the middle of the trail, as the tracks have been worn through in most places. The sections that were wet last night froze up a bit so there may be some icy patches out there. Trapper’s Cabin is the most skiable, Adventure and Manitou are passable, Rolling Hills can be done with patience, Tall Pines and Wild Turkey are the least skiable, but could still be enjoyed considering the alternative of not skiing. The morning will have crustier, faster conditions, and transforming to softer snow around noon. It’s still winter and we’re still skiing, put on your t-shirts out and make the most of the snow!

Today’s Forecast: Some clouds in the morning will give way to mainly sunny skies for the afternoon. High 41F. Winds light and variable.
